Info about Aplastic Anemia at www.aamds.org. There's a society for everything apparently!

Life is a Blessing ...

Hi everyone!

I am excited to tell you that we have a special guest teacher for Thursday April 28. The lovely Caitlyn McHugh is a certified Iyengar teacher with years of practice. I hope that you all will join her for our regularly scheduled classes.

As of May 1, Yoga Different will be closed indefinitely. I have been diagnosed with Aplastc Anemia and am currently awaiting insurance approval to be transferred to the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research center in Seattle. I want to extend my gratitude to all of you who have supported Yoga Different for the past five years and to those who have offered food, blood and love over the past week. I look at this time as an opportunity for healing and to experience joy in every area of my life. Life is such a joy and this is reminder for all of us of its blessing.

I will keep my blog updated as best I can. Please check www.yogadifferent.blogspot.com for current information and what ponderings I might have.

Love and blessings to you all,

Karen

Tuesday Walk

I visited with Karen today and we went for a little walk. She looked so adorable that we had to stop and pose her for a couple of photos. Always the height of style!

Karen's white blood cells and platelets were down today, though she was in great spirits and had a lot of energy. She ate a good lunch too ... in the hospital Healing Garden ... it is abloom with spring.

Right now she is waiting to hear from her patient advocate at the hospital as to whether her insurance company will agree to cover a move to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. She should hear in the next day or so ... maybe even this afternoon. All fingers crossed!

She is SUPER THANKFUL for the blood donations and for the delicious meals and visits and sends her love to everyone.
